✨🔥 Matariki hangi ✨🔥

​Events that bring whānau into kura to spend time together, building whanaungatanga, always uplift our collective wairua. When you pair this with a special occasion like Matariki, we have an absolute recipe for success! One of the things that makes us most proud was the fact that absolutely every child played a part! Whether it was helping with the preparation of our hangi, making resources for our star viewing, helping set up the classes for the noho, the list goes on. Everyone had a connection to making the day/afternoon the success that it was.

Manawatia Ā matariki 2021 

Our kaiako took up the wero to create a visual representation of what Matariki means to us here at Waimata school and showcase it with our community at the recent Matariki Community Celebration Concert held at Waihi College.
