"Whaia te iti kahurangi"
to Be the best that I can be
Over the course of 2014 Waimata School did a great deal of consultation with students, whanau, local community and businesses further a field. The vast amount of feedback we received was analysed and used to guide the redevelopment of our school Vision & Values.
The whakatauke chosen that encompasses our vision for what we want for our students was "Whāia te iti kahurangi" which when translated speaks of the pursuit of excellence. Our interpretation of this was "To be the best that I can be" This mantra is intended not only for the purpose of developing our students, but also as an expectation for all of us that take a part in preparing our tamariki for the future;
Parents, Teachers, Trustees & our community alike, all committed to ensuring we provide the best possible opportunities for our children to grow in to amazing adults!
